Description:

Adult beetles feed extensively on the leaves, flowers and fruits.They bore into roots, stem and also fruits which lie on ground.

Notes:

Found this one on the Night flowering jasmine(Nyctanthes arbor-tristis) shrub in my yard.

Thank you very much, stho002, for helping find the ID! Think it is a Red pumpkin beetle or cucumber beetle- PN spottings http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/7846754 http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/11404732 ....only mine looks more like Aulakophora foveicollis.
