Description:
Family: Papilionidae (Swallowtails) Female. Dark Form. Wingspan: 5 inches (127 mm). Black/brown instead of yellow. Blueish postmedian area on the ventral hindwings has one row of orange spots. The shadow of the tiger stripes can be seen on some female dark forms. Wide range of adult food usually pink or red flowers.

Meadow/lawn/woodlands
Notes:
It was flying around the backyard and into the light by the garage when it landed at the garage light with all the moths. I couldn't believe my eyes. Note: I did not find the butterfly on the flowers shown in the photos. I placed her on there after getting her to attach to my finger. Closest flowers to where I found her, but it is one of their favorites.
