At least rare where I live I know he is. Just saw one in all my exploration life! ;) Hemiptera, maybe?!

hahah Yes! For now it is a martian and I hope no one destroys our hopes!! :) This guy was far in his imitation. Whatever he wanted to "emulate", must be pretty ugly!
I really think it is dipteran with the appearance of the eyes, legs, lack of long antenna, but the body... I am thinking a mimic like many dipterans can be appearing like wasps, bees, etc. I am calling it a martain until further research can prove otherwise. :D
Yes! It may be a rare mutation! Who knows?! But I prefer a martian... lol :)
It is a curious looking thing with the rigid apperance of the proboscis and the large dipteran eyes. Maybe it is a martian, or mutant. Lol!
I don't know, Lauren. It has eyes and hump of Phoridae, but the abdomen and wings are more Hemiptera. The proboscis is like from the cicadas (or maybe from some hematophagous hemiptera, Triatomine). Hard to say... :/
This looks like a Hump-backed Fly of the Family Phoridae.
I know how you feel. In South Florida, We have ours and more invasives than I can count. Haha! Growing up here, I have watched the fauna change.
I was just hoping to meet the Project Noah to set me free! :) We have so many interesting things to show here that it seems as if we live on mars!
You have alot of very cool looking creatures in Brazil!
