On second thought, perhaps these are small milkweed bug nymphs. If you submit it to BugGuide.net, they can verify. I can see why you found them creepy if that was your thought.
I like bugs but these were giving me the eeebeee geeebeees looking at them for so long. Some were coming out of the milkweed bulb and look like they were exiting someone's flesh. LOL
I believe these are the nymphs at different stages of the large milkweed bug. I think they are interesting rather than disgusting. Nice spotting!
