Cool :) I have some pictures of Persian silk trees I've been meaning to upload for a while. Here in GA they are usually pink, but I have been seeing more and more pale yellow or white lately. Very pretty but actually a bit of a nuisance plant! :)
Thanks QWMOM i think is a Calliandra let me see what others suggest ....
I'm not 100% sure since there are no leaves in the photo, but the flower is so distinctive I thought I would offer the ID. Most people in the US call this "mimosa" but there really is a mimosa plant and this is not related to it.
