These birds are very common in the south of portugal. They run along the beach, then stop for a bit, and as soon as you get near them they are off again! Well in my case anyway!
In South Africa we get the Upupa Africana. I can't seem to see any difference in the markings. Interesting
Awesome! One of my favorite birds as well. Looks hilarious when running. Their range is huge though--most of Eurasia and Africa.
I typed hodhod into my iphone and the auto spellchecker turned it into Joshua. what an odd digital world we live in.
...and met the Queen of Sheba, Bilqis. A beautiful story.
Nice picture ... We called it in arabic (hodhod) if you know tje story of prophet Soliman ... This bird guided prophet Soliman to Saba'a in Yeman
Hola bird lovers! Thanks for the comments.
mylyoung: I agree, these situations are funny (I have a good sense of humor). Hugs.
I hope you are not offended; I was merely amused at how your comment got translated. Cheers!
I was hoping that in any situation like this. But this is good if you guys have fun. Warm greetings
Cool! Never even heard of this. And I shouldn't laugh, but eularubio's (presumably "precioso") comment definitely got lost in translation...
