Description:

Black Butterfly with bright orange-yellow spots. The second individual was photographed on 20 August 2013 in the same place. Family Nymphalidae. This species was also spotted in November along a river at a lower elevation. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/15758426/fullscreen.

Habitat:

Puddling along the highway between San Cristobal de Las Casas and Tuxtla Gutierrez, Km. 11.5, 865 meters.
