There are 3 possibilities for your spotting - Pycnoporus coccineus grows mainly in temperate Australia and NZ, Pycnoporus sanuineus grows mainly in Northern Australia, and Pycnoporus cinnabarinus grows in the Northern Hemisphere; they are distinguishable only microscopically. The species I've found in Queensland are called Scarlet Bracket. Hope this helps.
