Description:

Lasaia sula, commonly known as the Blue Metalmark, is a species of butterfly in the family Riodinidae that is native to North America.

The top of the wings is metallic blue while the undersides are checkerspotted and grayish-brown. The wingspan is 2.2 to 3.2 cm (0.87 to 1.3 in).

Habitat:

Inhabits subtropical forests, forest edges, and agricultural areas.

hahaha martini, you would have been most welcome, but you would have had to pay for a coolie! It was a fantastic trip. So much wild life! So much green! Such nice people! And lots and lots of butterflies!
