Field Notes

Description:

9 1/2 inches in length. Found at high tide line approximately 3 feet from dune. Large animal tracks found nearby. Two additional bones laying next to broad portion were attached with a tendon. Those bones resembled chicken thigh bones.

This is a pelvis and part of the spinal column. It's probably a Cormorant, pelican, duck etc. according to location and size.

Hello. I moved your spotting to the Birds category. Other is an invertebrate category for invertebrates that don't fit into Arthropods and other categories. :-)
