Description:

Medium size butterfly, highly iridiscent wings, turning black to blue on the upper side with golden spots.

Habitat:

Chile, Curacaví, central zone, mediterranean weather.

Thanks again bayucca! However, since this one was spotted on Chile, I'm trying to find a local common name. ;)
As common name you can take my suggested one: Polydamas Swallowtail, with this one you are for sure on the safe side, independently which subspecies it is.

Papilionidae, Battus polydamas and Battus polydamas psittacus, sometimes also called Battus polydamas archidamas. But according to BOA it is Battus polydamas psittacus. But I think the names are synonyms. http://www.flickr.com/photos/micguti/5423584314/
