Some type of moth, I believe. Tough to see markings in the pic, but he flew away before I could get more.

This is a Skipper Butterfly, Hesperiidae. Look at the typical large head. One of the most tricky butterfly to ID. Best chance if you can see all 4 sides. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skipper_(butterfly) http://bugguide.net/node/view/189 Do you have other pictures?
