Description:
very large, several cm leg span, at least 1 cm abdomen width, brown orb weaver, two dimples on dorsal surface, legs translucent and black barred
Habitat:
sunny open goldenrod meadow
Notes:
vary wary of approaching people and movement, retreats quickly to stem of the nearest goldenrod plant and tucks the face in between the legs and folds up into a large brown ball, caught a mosquito in its very large orb web
