Description:

The banded peacock or fatima (Anartia fatima) is a species of butterfly found in the southern United States, Mexico, and Central America.

This butterfly was common in Central America. It flew close to the ground in open scrubby, grassy places. Acted like the Pansy butterflies in India.

Habitat:

Subtropical open and disturbed areas such as fields, weedy places, orchards, and second growth.
