Description:

Orthetrum serapia Watson, 1984, is a species of dragonfly in the family Libellulidae. O. sabina sabina (Slender Skimmer or Green Marsh Hawk) and O. serapia (Green Skimmer) look very similar and have an overlapping distribution in the Philippines.

Habitat:

Spotted in our backyard adjacent to an open space.

Orthetrum serapia occupies a broad range of slow flowing and still water habitats, from ponds and lakes to wet rice fields, irrigation ditch and marshes, such that both are assessed as Least Concern according to IUCN.
