Field Notes

Description:

Lobes are cut nearly to the middle of the leaf. Each side has 2 to 4 primary finger-like lobes Fall color is usually rusty red to maroon.

Habitat:

Spotted along the roadside at Tamarac on 400th Ave. Habitat: part shade, sun, well drained soil, forest.

Notes:

Northern Pin Oak is found throughout central and southeastern Minnesota.
