Field Notes

Description:

Lots of lichen on large Bradford Pear trees with heavy canopies. Trees seem healthy, in general, but their trunks stay shaded and moist much of the time. Also called Old Man's Beard, Tree's Dandruff and Woman's Long Hair. Genus Usnea has more than 80 species, but it's a start.
