Field Notes

Description:

Baby Turtle.

Habitat:

Ocean

Notes:

Resorts have encroached on turtle habitats, and as a mitigation measure (and a tourist edu-attraction), the onsite naturalists retrieve the eggs and guard them from the predatory birds. Once they incubate and hatch, the naturalists facilitate the guests in facilitating the turtles return to the ocean. They must walk the last few feet by themselves, without getting crushed by stupid humans or eaten by sharp-eyed predatory birds; if there are too many birds out, they will retrieve the turtles and try again another day.
