Obrigada, Leonardo. Jemma, I could not find the page that talks about red eyes.
Sckel,the link might also explain why you were seeing red in the eyes.
Sckel, there are over 90 Brazilian species in a single genus, so I suggested one. Hope that helps! ;)

I have never seen this fly before. Nice green eyes.

http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/37356292 This fly has green eyes and patterned wings. Was not able to capture abdomen details. Never saw it again. Hope it gives yo some clues!
