Field Notes

Description:

A uniformly brown booby (white belly in adults) with a grayish bill and yellowish legs. Since establishing a nesting colony in the Coronodos Islands of Mexico just south of San Diego, this species has become increasingly more frequent along the California coast. A Blue-footed Booby, part of this year's unprecedented invasion, was also present in around the same breakwater.
