Field Notes

Description:

A small mouse with large eyes and ears, a brown back, and a white belly and feet.

Habitat:

Caught in a snake trap used for graduate research. We catch rodents often, and we get them out of the trap and take them several meters away in hopes they won't go back in the trap. In a lowland prairie area near large ponds.

Haha well the only way to get them out of the trap is to pick them up! We all forgot our gloves, which is why we grabbed him by the scruff of the neck. He was good though and didn't try to bite, although we have all been bitten at some point by the rodents from the traps ;)
