Field Notes

Description:

One of the most beautiful butterflies I have ever seen. This was a very rare encounter. I only saw this for a few minutes. These were all the photos I could get before it disappeared. Pretty sure about the ID, it is definitely a Marpesia species.

Habitat:

cloudforest, 2400m

Notes:

I spotted this and a lot of other butterflies while walking on the one land road from Otun Quimbaya Santuario to Parque Ucumari.
