Description:

The fruits grow in clusters at the base of the palm, and are also known as snake fruit due to the reddish-brown scaly skin.

Habitat:

A species of palm tree (family Arecaceae) native to Indonesia, Brunei and Malaysia.

Notes:

I saw these fruits walking by the beach -- I've never seen them before. What are they?
