Field Notes

Description:

A few of the many individuals spotted during the boat trip from Peniche to Berlenga, where a colony over 80 couples breed. A quite emblematic bird from Portugal's fauna, being the most familiar shearwater species during most months of the year. Despite being exclusively pelagic, it can be spotted from beaches and capes quite easily.

Habitat:

Open Waters

Notes:

Cagarra; Pardela-de-bico-amarelo
