These are well known along the cold water of the southern coast. We see them washed up sometimes but they loose their color. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/8529329 He and his flamboyant cousin are not really true seahorses but obviously related. http://animals.nationalgeographic.com/animals/fish/sea-dragon/
