Field Notes

Description:

Sturdy grey mushrooms with caps about 50 mm wide. Caps were a grey brown and there were others with a purple tinge (pic 6). Young caps were beautifully rounded and smooth. More mature mushroom caps showed flattening and then concavity, developing a depression in the centre.
Gills were attached, white and show some forking. Stipes were thick, smooth and white.

Habitat:

Growing in grass in a eucalyptus forest.
