Field Notes

Description:

this bromeliad was growing directly upside down over the road through Santuario Otun Quimbaya. it was flowering so it must have been happy how it was.

Habitat:

cloudforest, 2400m

Notes:

I've seen bromeliads and tillandsias in some strange places but I've never seen one growing upside down like this. It was fairly high up and I couldn't get a close up of the flowers. I've ID'd it to the subfamily because it may be difficult to ID without seeing the flowers up close.
