Field Notes

Notes:

This innocent juvenile Barbet has accidentally flown in to one of our neighbors glass windows and got hit . It was in a shock ,when we reached there to take him down from the gutter on the window . We kept it in a safe place where other animals couldn't reach and after few hours it started to fly a bit we kept an eye on it but didn't disturbed , after like four more hours it flew away happily and perched on a Jack fruit tree near by . Last photo was taken few minutes before it flew away .

Thanx Jason yep they are............wondering around and making a big noises ! :) happy to have them around our home gardens !
One more visit and one more like for this cutie..Absolutely adorable :)
Really i didn't know that , well this little cutie was not damaged much as i think because when i took it from the window , it bit me three or four times :) I think we all were lucky that it was a minor incident because usually the cats and dogs around our neighborhood are good at hunting. Barbets are a very common site at our home town .
Thanks for taking care of it. Concussion is a reality in birds and the symptoms are similar to humans. Looks like this bird did not become unconscious. My parakeet hit it's head on the ceiling and became unconscious. It had memory loss and was disoriented for quite some time. What a lovely bird you photographed! thanks for sharing.
lovely, purple scarf. how did I miss this one?
Picture 3 shows an interesting thing about birds (some birds? all birds?); that their bottom eye-lid closes over their eye rather than the top one like us, or cats.
Beautiful spotting and a wonderful story.
