I seldom see them in FL but they're all over the place here in NC
Well I certainly learned something new today! I absolutely adore hummingbirds, your are so lucky to have them in your neighbourhood!
Thanks for that link Elsa! I have been noticing the orangey color that does look redder at certain angles. I assumed it had something to do with non-breeding plumage.
That first photo is gorgeous and very interesting - I've never seen that golden colour on the throat of ruby-throated before so I had to google it! http://www.sibleyguides.com/2011/08/the-mystery-of-the-orange-throated-hummingbirds/ Looks like it can be a male in non-breeding plumage?
