Field Notes

Description:

Wet. Black feathers. Hooked beak. Drying itself after a dive or two I suppose.

Habitat:

The second, smaller waterbody along my morning walk route. Residential area. Urban. The perimeter of this water body is natural, not cemented with steps leading to the water. I see lots of birds here catching their breakfast. Yesterday I saw Mr and Mrs Kingfisher with baby! I was caught in a sudden pre-monsoon downpour but dashed off one shot before wrapping up my camera so that it did not get wet.
