Field Notes

Description:

Wing span around 50mm. The fore wing above is black with orange markings. The apex contains a white bar running inward from the costal margin and four white dots around the tip.

Habitat:

This one was moving through suburban streets landing occasionally on asteraceae flowers.

Notes:

The adults have only four legs! Very similar to Vanessa cardui.
