Field Notes

Description:

Bee on Ceanothus bush

Habitat:

Large patch of Ceanothus bushes adjacent to Randall Museum, SF, CA

Notes:

Photographing bees is a great meditative pleasure. It's impossible to do if you're impatient or have pre-conceived notions of what the bee "ought" to do. Unllike, say, snakes which just sit there, bees don't stay in one place and certainly don't face the camera cooperatively. I photograph them every chance I get, as both a nature and a meditation activity.
