Field Notes

Description:

A small bagmoth about 20mm long covered with minute black and white material.

Habitat:

Spotted on a pole on a outdoor decking.

This species is said to feed on lichen growing on fence posts, rocks and tree trunks.

Notes:

The casemoth caterpillar moved quite fast working back and forth on the timber.

Family: Psychidae
