Field Notes

Description:

Small brackets with hairy upper surface with narrow zones of shades of brown. The point of attachment to wood was woody and bluish green with algal growth. The margins of the brackets were white.
The under surfaces were concave and a pale purple.

Habitat:

Growing on a decaying damp eucalyptus log.

Notes:

This species also appears as a crust fungus as can be seen in this spotting
