Description:

Sweetbay Magnolia (Magnolia virginiana). Sweetbay magnolia flowers occur singly at branch ends. The creamy white flowers have 6 to 12 petals. Have a wonderful fragnance. The leaves are long and oval with blunt tips. A small semi-evergreen tree that blooms in early summer.

Habitat:

This sweetbay magnolia is growing wild on the edge of the woods next to the yard. Almost hidden by other trees.
