Field Notes

Description:

Herbaceous perennial with tuber like roots. Hairy stems up to 40 cm. Yellow flowers with five petals at the end of stems. Five sepals yellow-greenish. The petals are shiny at the upper part. Numerous stamen. Fruits (achene) are hairy with curved spikes, grouped in a cylindrical head.

Habitat:

It appears only at the centre of Iberian peninsula. Spotted in a pine forest in the mountains of Sierra de Guadarrama, at 1500 meters high.
