I should have added, that when you feel confident in someone's suggestion you too can add it into your spotting. But it is best to wait until it has at least 3 votes (+) unless you are really sure it is a correct suggestion. :-)
That's OK Helena. Most of us don't know them until we look them up on another website or in a book. Species ID suggestions are meant to help us identify our spottings.They are suggested by other Project Noah users. If 3 or more users agree on a species suggestion, a ranger like me can look at the spotting and if we agree too, we can go ahead and add that suggestion to your spotting. If you don't know a scientific name always leave it blank, but be sure to tick the box that says "Help me ID this species". :-)
