Found on bike path next to San Diego river near riparian veg

Species ID Suggestions

Red-eared Slider

Western Painted Turtle

Comments (1)

Not too sure why so many people agreed with the painted turtle ID. Their shell is much flatter, and the bottom shell and edge of the top shell are red. This turtle does not have red on the shell.
