Field Notes

Description:

Small warbler, olive-green upperparts, yellow underparts, white lower belly. Small chestnut-brown cap, barely noticeable. Gray hood extends to back, eye-ring is white. Two breeding populations, a mid to northeastern one that doesn't wag its tail, and a Pacific Coast one that does.

Habitat:

Water feature in wildlife habitat yard.

Thank you Liam. I thought they were not the same bird, but I just could not pin down which of the many warblers they were.

Similar to the bird in your other spotting (http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/38428253), but notice how much more gray the head is and also note the plain tertials. One of the diagnostic field marks for Yellow Warbler is the white edging on the tertials, seen very well in your other spotting.
