None of the plants were identified in this nursery; none had tags on them and the attendant could not speak English.

This plant has other common names: bloodflower, Katherine-wheel, oxtongue lily, and powderpuff lily, some of which are also used for other plants.

Thanks Lenny, for your ID. Yes, I found only one mention of this plant in Thailand.The URL to that article is the first link in Notes. The Thai name is Ku-Marn Tong and it is thought to be a lucky plant in Thailand to attract luck, good fortune and business success. You are correct, it's a native of Africa and is poisonous. Thanks again.
Joey.Sorry no reference.I've seen this plant many times dotted about Thailand,Even in the rain forest even though I believe it is a native of Africa. I remember reading somewhere its used for "poison aroows"being toxic.
