Description:

These spiders are active during summer in low-elevation habitats. They build orb webs, often characterized by a zigzagging stabilimentum , among tall grasses and low plants; marble-sized egg sacs covered with tough, brown, papery silk may be suspended in the web

Habitat:

Throughout United States in low-elevation habitats, especially riparian woodlands, gardens, and parks
