Description:

A bolete of some kind. Reticulate stem.Many pores/tubes on underside of cap. Underside of cap is concave. Growing on forest floor.

Nice pic from my old hiking grounds in western NC. Do you think it could possibly be a Bay Bolete (Imleria badia). The stem is often described as somewhat reticulate. It's also a very common bolete in the forest areas of the East Coast. Next time, if you scratch the underside of the cap, see if it blues. That also helps narrow down the choices for ID. http://greennature.com/article92.html
