Field Notes

Notes:

This was the 10th out of 11 Black Bears we saw in 24 hours. As we were making our final round on the Cades Cove Loop before heading home my brother saw this bear out in the middle of a field. We stopped and I walked up the road a little bit to get a better view. While I was showing another person where the bear was it began to walk toward us. The closer it got I began backing off and making noise to let it know where I was. It was completely unconcerned with my presence and kept getting closer despite my attempts to move back, it finally crossed the road about 100 feet from where I stood.
