Field Notes

Description:

A black sawfly about 20 mm long with orange patches on thorax and rear end of abdomen. The anterior part of the abdomen had a slightly paler band. Wings were not tinted. Antennae were feathery.

Habitat:

Spotted on a young Eucalyptus tree in a reserve.

Notes:

Pity this sawfly flew away before I could get another shot. It was also a very windy day.
