Field Notes

Description:

1cm well camouflaged flat green spider

Habitat:

This one was found at night on a low Bloodwood sapling (Under 2m} along a very disturbed community pathway next to an oval. They are disguised at a part of a twig that has had a twig removed and thus are normally found pretending to be parts of a twig on gum trees

Notes:

I say it is D.solomonsii and previously unknown. Thanks to Ron Atkinson for a second opinion

They are definitely around here.... somewhere http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/8599258 I'm probably cruising right past them often :-)
It is quite a buzz both to find these guys and to compare your finds 1000k to the south. I will be interested to see if one turns up
Excellent find. I'm still looking for one of this genus.... D solomonsii !! Cool name.
Thanks Leanne. This species is one of my favourite things to find.
That is a very cool spider Stephen, I'll be on the lookout for these :)
