Description:

The Red-bordered pixie is a black butterfly with red spots and yellow-tipped wings. Wingspan about 40 mm. Pic 4 shows the underside of wings and partial body.

Habitat:

Spotted feeding on lantana and fiddlewood at the National Butterfly Center in Mission, Texas.

Notes:

Found from LRGV of south Texas to Costa Rica.
