Description:

More from Mt Townsend.... A first harbinger of spring in the alpine zone usually found just as the snow melts. This was no exception snow was abundant 200 feet higher up on the trail.

Habitat:

Alpine zone in Washington melts out around late June to mid July and snows flies by late September early October. The seasons are short and flowers explode across the mountain tops a site that needs to be seen to be believed. 5,500 ft above sea level.
