Description:

Large cisticola, the only black-backed one in swampy areas throughout most of its range. Beside the black back, it sports rufous wing panel. Whitish underneath.

Habitat:

Relatively common bird in swamps and marshes of West and Central Africa, the distribution patchy. Here observed on bords of swampy and flooded ground in urban environment.
