Description:

The Gartered Trogon (Trogon caligatus), also known as the Northern Violaceous Trogon, is a near passerine bird in the trogon family, Trogonidae. It is found in forests in east-central Mexico, south through Central America, to north-western South America (west or north of the Andes in Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela)

It nests in a wasp, ant or termite nest or a hole in a rotten tree, with a typical clutch of two or three white eggs.

Habitat:

They live in the canopy and edges, dry and wet areas, gallery forests, old secondary forest, cocoa plantations.. This one was seen in the canopy of primary rainforest in Selva Verde, Costa Rica.

I'm a bit confused as to what I should name this bird...
Bayucca and Jeff... I checked online and wiki said the T.violaceus was only found in the Amazon Basin and in trinidad, so I'm staying with Trogon caligatus. Thank you both...
Depending on your taxonomy: either Trogon caligatus or Trogon violaceus concinnus.
