Description:
A little bit smaller than Dasysyrphus hilaris of the same genus https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/622518737. The antennae are completely dark. The face is yellow with light hair and a black central stripe. The thorax is slightly dull black without bright stripes. The scutellum is dark yellow. The abdomen is black with three pairs of yellow, comma-shaped spots. The wings are glassy with a light brown wing mark.
